The Hungry Housewives

Welcome to A Life Less Toxic!

I'm Alisa- mother to three kids, two cats, a dog, plus married to my high school sweetheart David. We live in an 1898 Victorian home in the PNW called Vintage Small Town Charmer. as a four generation household!
In 2004, I founded The Hungry Housewives which brought women together to enjoy food, and give back to our local community through The Hungry Housewives Events
In 2012. I was introduced to a French natural home care company, where I really became conscious of what was IN our home and personal care products, and more aware of my physical impact on the planet.
Since then, I’ve helped so many learn how to take care of THEIR homes, while making amazing friends along the way!  Join my community at A Life Less Toxic where I share easy food,  home care, and products for taking care of you.

It's all about the food...

Founded in 2004, The Hungry Housewives was created for moms to exchange homemade freezer dinners, celebrate each other, and chat over lunch. With a background in volunteering at our children's school, we decided to also fundraise for charities in our community- which led to me creating The Hungry Housewives Events. I not only started the group, but have continued to share my favorite foods, household tips, and the occasional product recall. Don't miss out- make sure to "follow" us on social media!

... but also about the FUN!

In 2012, The Hungry Housewives Events started when we decided to give back to our community. We have put on fashion shows, provided day-long craft spaces, donated to auctions, and participated in local charities. Our favorite thing is our annual Craft & Vendor Show held in October in Buckley, WA. 2023's event will be held Saturday, Oct 14th 10-4pm at Glacier Middle School. Follow along for invite coming soon, but here's a TIP, get there EARLY to get a goody bag (one per family, adults only).

Vintage Small Town Charmer

Built in 1898, we love caring for our Victorian home, located south of Seattle. In the fall, we decorate for Halloween, then during the winter, we host a musical LED light show. The Christmas program is about an hour long, with a variety of music which you can tune into on your radio. Grab a bite to eat or cup of coffee from one of the restaurants in town, then park and enjoy! See our updates here: Vintage Small Town Charmer

Merry & Bright Buckley

In 2018, my friend Sandra started Merry on Main which came out of a conversation with teens, wanting to do something to bring the community together. The entire downtown was completely decorated (including our home!) to bring joy to our little part of the world!
Two years later, our City Admins created Merry & Bright which expanded the festivities to include a Holiday Decorating Contest while everything was shut down during covid. Now that things have settled down, they needed somebody to run the event, so my friend April and I are carrying on the torch!
You can learn more about becoming a participant in the event, and you can also vote on your favorite homes and businesses on our Merry & Bright Linktree
