Room Hire at WEA Adult Learning
If you're looking for a venue for your next meeting, workshop or training session, the WEA’s modern and comfortable training rooms provide all you need.
The WEA Centre is located on Angas Street in the Adelaide CBD and offers an inner-city location and unbeatable value for money!
Street parking is available, or parking in the WEA carpark costs just $5 per day.
Room hire starts from just $52 per hour, with discounts available for long term hire.
The WEA building is fully accessible with ramps at our front and rear entrances, reserved accessible parking in the rear carpark, a designated accessible unisex toilet and shower, and a lift to the first floor and basement.
WEA's Facilities
The WEA has a range of multi-purpose classrooms available with full audio-visual equipment as well as a fitness room, art room with easels and pottery wheels, craft room, music room, demonstration kitchen and spacious basement.
Our two purpose-built computer training rooms contain the latest technology and software.

WEA also offers customised group training at very reasonable rates, so we can host your conference or convention and your attendees can start the day with a fun and interactive group learning or team building session.

Note:
- All prices include GST.
- The minimum period of room hire is 2 hours.
- Our standard hours are 9am to 5pm and additional charges will apply outside these hours.
- The room hire fee includes DVD player, whiteboard and screen.
- Data projector, internet access, PC and portable microphone are also included in the room hire fee but a booking is required for these items.
- All day parking at the rear of the WEA centre costs just $4 per day, subject to availability.
Other facilities and services available at an additional fee:
- Tea and coffee for up to 20 people is $50, with an extra $10 charged per 5 people thereafter.
- Microphone and speakers are available for $40 per session.
- Photocopying is available at a cost of $0.25 per sheet up to 50 sheets, or $0.20 per sheet for more than 50 sheets.
WEA Room Hire Terms and Conditions
Bookings for training rooms require a full payment or deposit which secures your room and date. One-off bookings require full payment within 21 days. Multiple room bookings require a 50%, or negotiated deposit, paid within 21 days. Final payment is required 14 days prior to the booking date. WEA requires notification in writing (email or letter) of cancellation or amendments to bookings. Each amendment or cancellation will incur an administrative fee of $25.
NO refund will be provided for cancellations within two weeks of the room booking date.
Hirers are responsible for returning the room to its original layout and will incur an additional charge for any damage or additional cleaning necessitated by their activity.
Hirers are responsible for their own public liability insurance with the WEA taking no liability for public claims.
Where alcohol is being served Hirers must acquire a limited “Liquor Licence”. Applications for limited licences can be lodged online on the Consumer and Business Service’s website (www.cbs.sa.gov.au). A copy of this licence must be forwarded to the WEA prior to the hire date. To assist with completing this application you will need to know that the WEA has six female toilets and six male toilets, situated on the first floor and the ground floor and a unisex toilet out the back of Cottage A which is adjacent to the WEA building. There is also a toilet with disability access on the ground floor. If liquor is sold/served without a licence a maximum penalty of $20,000 for first offence and $40,000 for a second or subsequent offence can apply. This is in accordance with the Liquor Licencing Act 1997. For further information on this please visit the above website or contact the WEA.
WEA reserves the right to refuse a room hire request where an activity is deemed inappropriate or in commercial conflict with WEA business or in cases of non-compliance with these terms and conditions.
