Hi, I'm Bev
Oh boy, when I started my business 5 years ago I was so clueless around business speak, I didn't even know what a landing page was!
After 32 years as an employee, the language of the business world felt like double dutch to me.
I spent so many hours on Google trying to find out what different terms meant. But sometimes I didn't even know what to search for. I felt like a complete novice and dreaded having to speak to anyone to ask for help in case I sounded like I didn't know what I was talking about (truth bomb - I didn't!).
I so wish I'd been able to get my hands on something like The Ultimate Glossary of Business Terms back then, which is why I've pulled it all together for you now.
I hope you find it useful and a resource that you can go back to over and over again.
Best wishes, Bev
It's hard to feel confident when you don't understand all the jargon!
A bit about me!
I call myself an 'accidental entrepreneur' as I never planned to start a business, but 5 years ago I found myself out of work and looking for something that would fit with my ADHD, being perimenopausal and give me some autonomy over how I spent my time.
So without any plan and no idea what I was doing, I set myself up in business.
Learning the language of business was just one of MANY new skills I had to learn along the way.
I also had to find ways to stay focused and manage my ADHD distractability on the one hand, and my tendency to hyperfocus on the other - often putting my wellbeing to one side when I got my head stuck into an exciting new business idea.
I know that many women, especially those of us with ADHD, are already juggling multiple responsibilities and often struggle with setting boundaries or taking time for self-care.
And starting a new business can definitely feel overwhelming and confusing.
It's very easy to go all in and forget to look after ourselves or we fall deep into the analysis paralysis trap and never even get started.
As a coach and mentor, I believe in coaching from a place of feminine energy - not in a woo-woo sort of way - but simply by recognising that so often we ignore our feminine brilliance and push through regardless.
That's why my coaching approach is grounded in nurturing and supportive energy that empowers my clients to take care of themselves while pursuing their business goals whilst at the same time finding practical, workable systems and practices that actually help you get the work done.
I provide a safe space where my clients can connect with their intuition, harness their creativity, and find balance in their lives, while at the same time challenging, in a no BS but loving way, any of the mindset blocks that might be standing in their way.
If this sounds like a good fit for you, and you really are serious about getting your business off the ground and creating the life you want, we need to talk.
