The Making of Moon Tea
Back Story: I've been reading my horoscope since I was teen reading Essence and Teen Magazines. I wanted to understand what has happening for my sign so I could be sure of what I was feeling and what was coming up for me. The thirst for this type of understanding grew and in my early 20's I had my birth chart done. It was so insightful at that time. It really helped me to understand somethings about myself. Not long after I had a chart done for my first kid and it was so spot on. It really helped me understand who she is and didn't waste my time trying to create a mini me, I was able to allow her to be herself. I realize this work can help anybody, everybody. I started to study this more. I wanted to learn about my sign from other forms of astrology. I'm a Gemini, I was born the Year of the Dog according to Chinese Astrology, I studied the I Ching, Egytian and Ayurvedic astrology. I learned a little bit more about myself each time so I think its a good idea to look around at all the the ways humans have created ways to understand themselves. We do a service to our selves to have a deep understanding of self. It's the key to self acceptance in my opinion. I learned what I need and what my weaknesses and strengths are. I was able to accept these things and love myself fully which helped me to grow my confidence based on this inner-standing. I stopped looking for outside validation which was a major game change in my self love journey. I realize this stuff could help other people so I got to work and Moon Tea was born. I first starting sharing this the Tea on the San Francisco based Black Independent Radio Station 89.5FM KPOO.com Radio on the Ibeji Lounge with Meloni and Melorra Green they knew it was my dream to be on Radio so they put me on and the response was wild. It was weird and awesome having folks say hey I know that voice, Moon Tea right? I pray to get back there at some point Let pray that happens. ADVICE
The Family Wound
I have been working on programs to help people process their trauma. I created a program to "Change Your Inner Narrative" and "The Mother Wound". Now I'm working on a self paced program for "The Family Wound". I designed this for people like myself who is the black sheep of the family, the family secret, the adopted one or the kid who was shunned due to being queer, trans or just different in some way that's openly not accepted. Learning how to accept yourself can be a challenge and I want to help by creating a framework to set up healthy boundaries, loving from afar and doing the work to separate what work is yours and what belongs to the people who raised you. You will also learn how to build a chosen family that supports and accepts you as is, sees through your bs and is always loving on you. You deserve the best. People often ask how I keep it together after all the adversity thrown my way. The answer is that I dig down and do this work. I get to change my mind on what I think about myself even though the world around me has shown me different. I get to decide how I want to show up and how I want to respond. I have chosen a loving response to myself first and a gentle release to whom and what does not align. This took awhile and lots of back-n-forths before it clicked but with practice I'm getting better. Folks are finding progress with this work. I pray you do as well.
