"I loved this book. It's great to see a strong female character. The story has lots of twists and a good ending. I'm used to reading books written by American authors and it was refreshing to read a story from a European author."
"Wonderful book which I loved because of the development and depth of the characters, first and foremost the irrepressible Magali!"
"Bausse’s detective has the ‘Robinson Crusoe’ factor – the reader puts themselves in her position and imagines what they would do in the same situation."
"I fell in love with Magali immediately."
Magali and I get on extremely well. It has to be said she's a likable character - you're probably much better off with her than you are with me. In the time we've been together, she's seen some very dark stuff, but she's always kept her sense of humour, doesn't bear me a grudge, and trusts her own judgement. As one reader put it, 'When I read about Magali, I want to do the things she does.' You may feel the same but if so, please proceed with caution - I can't be held responsible for what happens!
