Kaleidoscope of Teaching&Learning English

This online event fractures the vision of teaching English into a different but interrelated forms of the same! Join us and become a part of our ELT Kaleidoscope! You can make our ELT world colourful!

Our main strategy in ELT is to have our students be involved in doing and practising. Our language lessons can be delivered in different ways, and a number of different activities can be included!

We focus on our students providing them with different student-oriented activities.

Kaleidoscope of Topics:

FROM WORDS TO SENTENCES TO TEXTS AND SPEAKING

In this talk we will look at the importance of constantly working from words to word combinations and grammaticalised chunks leading to short conversations and texts. This may require both some different word choices for our syllabus, a focus on I/you as the primary grammar focus and different attitude to level and accuracy. The talk will also refer to presenter's ongoing experience of learning Russian (очень медленнo!).

WARMERS and FILLERS

Warmers and fillers are short 5-10 minute activities used to engage learners, fill time during a lesson or to end a lesson on a positive note. They can either be related to the aim or theme of the lesson or act as short, stand alone activities. You will be provided with some example warmer and filler activities.

Make your classroom a positive and enjoyable experience with Paul Harvey!

MAKE YOUR TEACHING WRITING FUN

Do your students react to the words “We are going to have a writing lesson today!” with a collective, resounding groan? Yes, for some students, expressing their ideas on paper is a challenge even in their native language. But writing can be fun – it can give your students a chance to express themselves and to share their interests. Our Presenter will share some tips of how to bring out the fun in writing in your classes.
