Who is this for?

This is for classroom teachers K-12 who are interested in making sure they are
getting the most from their STEM Challenges.

What you’ll learn

We'll spend four days doing a deep dive into differentiating your STEM Challenges! The plan is to use a workshop/lesson study/PLC hybrid model as our format. Given the inevitable time zone differences & life happening as it does, we'll do our best! Don't worry if the timing doesn't fit your schedule. Replays of the live sessions will be available.

In this interactive workshop/lesson study we will:

  • Start with a classic tower STEM Challenge
  • Build in levels of difficulty to span all ages
  • Build in content connections within and beyond STEM
  • Share ideas with other participants
  • Fine-tune and tailor the perfect version of the challenge to use with your class
  • Leave with a challenge plan and a deeper understanding of how to routinely build in deeper content connections and rigor in your STEM Challenges!

We'll use a classic tower challenge as the base for this PD, and no matter what grade you teach, you're going to leave with a wagonload of ideas you can use in your classroom right away, plus a better understanding of how to step up the rigor in your
STEM Challenges!

When?

The live sessions were held in the Stellar STEM Teachers Facebook group in August 2018. You can still watch replays and participate in the workshop at your own pace on Teachable.
