My first book flopped - after I'd invested way too much time and money into it. I was so demotivated, I gave up writing for ten years and lived in a library getting a PhD.
But my true passion was writing, so I tried again - learning to DIY and make smart publishing choices to save (and earn) more money. I've also spent thousands of hours building templates, resources and tutorials to help indie authors self-publish better.
I really want to give back to the community, so I'm making this publishing guide free - along with an "indie author survival guide" I just finished, with all my best publishing and book marketing tips.

"Hi Derek! I'm at the point where I make over 2.5k a month from my writing, and it all started with you, so you know how special you are to me. I still remember your e-mails when they said 'All right, let's start making your 1k'. Now I'm at double that, and ready to learn more from you awesome people." -Hugs, Ana Calin ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
"Murphy's been in the indie publishing arena probably longer than 90% of the folks writing out there. This gives him the knowledge, background, and experience to tell us what worked for him and what didn't. This book is nearly 200 pages, so no skimping on content here (unlike some other books aimed at us author folk)." ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
"A ton of great info in a small package! This was an easy read, but covered so much information that anyone looking to get started in publishing can tackle the task without freaking out. Love that Derek gives it to you straight, pointing out what not to waste time on. That's especially important for us creative types who tend to get bogged down with details." ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
"When telling new authors about great resources, you’re at the top of the list. I learned the hard (and expensive) way about people who seem to be out more to make big bucks rather than sincerely help others. I have a lot of respect for what I’ve seen of you over the past few years, and want to let you know your efforts are appreciated." -PJ Reinbold ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
