Before I had children I was pretty adventurous. I travelled the world, visited the most incredible places, met some amazing people and most importantly had SO much fun!

I first became a mum in 2015 and despite having lot's of experience caring for babies from my job as a Maternity Nurse, I found being a new mum quite tough. I wasn't prepared to feel so "not myself". I wasn't prepared to feel so lonely. I wasn't prepared to feel overwhelmed with the baby groups and opinions of some well (and some not so well) meaning strangers.

My second baby arrived quite soon after my first and those next years flew by in a flash. My business went from strength to strength taking up whatever spare time I had when I wasn't being a mummy to my 'two under two' wildlings.

Around the time my youngest turned 3 (and in the middle of a global pandemic) I had an awakening. I'd completely lost my fun! It was affecting me personally but it was also affecting my kids and my relationship with my husband. By not taking time to make sure I was meeting my own needs, it was affecting my ability to be the mum I want to be.

I realised that it really mattered to me that my boys saw their mummy as someone who prioritised having FUN as much as I prioritised my family life and business. Something had to change.

Taking a chance, I joined a group business coaching program where the sun the moon and the stars aligned and I was lucky enough to be welcomed into a sisterhood of likeminded, incredible women. We planned an event together and randomly chose paddle boarding. My kids came along with my husband to watch and as they stood at the edge of the canal cheering me on to stand up on the board, I knew this was about so much more than just paddle boarding.

I made a commitment to myself there and then, to do more of the things I love.

On the journey of rediscovering my own fun, it occurred to me that all mums should have this opportunity! My dream is for every mum to have access to what was missing for me - a tribe of supportive, like minded women who are prioritising their own wellbeing, so that they can be a better parent, partner, wife or friend.

And so, the Fun Mums Club was born on a beautifully calm morning paddle boarding out on the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond.

I hope you will join us as we adventure together, growing this movement to reach as many mums as possible, helping them to reignite their fun!
