ABOUT MARINA
Marina Jovanovska holds a Master of Law diploma from the University and has successfully passed the Bar exam. With a diverse professional background spanning 16 years in law enforcement and the justice system, she currently serves as the Chief Investigator for cybercrime at the Investigative Center within the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office. In this capacity, she effectively coordinates and manages activities that involve collaboration between the Ministry of Interior, Public Prosecutor's Office, and Criminal Court, ensuring the implementation of criminal law and criminal procedures.
Previously, Ms. Jovanovska held the position of Chief Police Investigator in the Sector for cybercrime and digital forensics at the Ministry of Interior for nearly seven years. Prior to that role, she served as an investigator for cybercrime in the Sector for financial crime and cybercrime organized crime for six years. Throughout her career, she has earned numerous certificates from international organizations for successfully completing various training programs. Additionally, she has received multiple accolades for her contributions to solving complex criminal cases.
Her investigative expertise extends to areas such as intrusion into computer systems, internet fraud, non-cash means of payments, credit card abuse, e-commerce, online investigations, child sexual abuse online, hate speech online, ransomware, identity theft, and phishing attacks. She has been the 24/7 point of contact for the Ministry of Internal Affairs for international cooperation and requesting e-evidence from global internet service providers.
In fostering international collaboration, Ms. Jovanovska actively shares information and cultivates partnerships with other countries through Europol, Interpol, Selec, and the FBI. Her involvement in international monitoring bodies and Committees of experts by the Council of Europe further demonstrates her commitment to enhancing global cooperation in both the private and public sectors.
She has actively participated in several projects funded by the EU and USA aimed at strengthening national capacities in combating cybercrime. As a member of established working groups, Ms. Jovanovska has contributed to creating Standard Operating Procedures for cybercrime and developing the national strategy for cybercrime.
In recent years, she has transitioned to a role where she shares her knowledge and experience as a trainer and consultant for cybercrime. Ms. Jovanovska conducts training sessions at the Police Training Center and the Academy for training judges and prosecutors in North Macedonia. Moreover, she is engaged by international organizations such as OSCE, UNODC, and CEPOL to deliver training programs in foreign countries.
Since 2022, Ms. Jovanovska has proudly served as a delegate of the national team, specifically as the delegate for cybercrime, contributing to the European integration process for North Macedonia, particularly in Chapter 24, "Justice, Security, and Freedom."
